DHS National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Dora’s NHS eligibility requirements:
Junior or Senior student
3.5 cumulative GPA
95% cumulative attendance
Be enrolled in 3 core classes -
(English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
Election to membership in the National Honor Society represents the highest honor and trust that can be bestowed upon a student in his or her junior or senior year of high school. The National Honor Society recognizes students for outstanding SCHOLARSHIP, LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, and CHARACTER.
Membership in the society is indicative that the student continues to attain, demonstrate, and promote all of these qualities and exerts an effort to improve conditions in the school and community.
Meeting the grade point average and attendance requirements are not the sole criteria for acceptance into the National Honor Society. Evidence that you meet the qualifications of scholarship, leadership, service, and character is necessary to be eligible for membership.
*Submitting an application upon notice of qualification does not guarantee placement into
the National Honor Society at Dora High School.
